Chicken Biryani recipe

 

"Indulge in the rich and aromatic flavours of homemade Chicken Biryani!
A perfect blend of spices, tender chicken, and fragrant basmati rice. 🥘✨
Ingredients
🔸️1 kg chicken
🔸️1 cup plain yogurt
🔸️2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
🔸️1 tsp each of turmeric powder, red chili powder & garam masala powder
🔸️Salt
🔸️2 cups basmati rice
🔸️2-3 green cardamom pods
🔸️1 cinnamon stick, bay leaf
🔸️Water
🔸️ 2-3 cloves
🔸️ 3 tbsp ghee or oil
🔸️ 2 large onions & Tomatoes
🔸️ 1 tbsp biryani masala
🔸️ Fresh coriander & mint leaves
🔸️ Fried onions for garnish
🔸️ Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
🔸️ In a large bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and salt.
🔸️ Add the chicken pieces and coat them well with the marinade for 1 hour
🔸️ Rinse the basmati rice.
🔸️ In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add salt, green cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, cloves, and bay leaf.
🔸️ Add the soaked rice to the boiling water and cook until the rice is 70-80% cooked.
🔸️ Heat ghee or oil in a large pot over medium heat.
🔸️ Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown .
🔸️ Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.
🔸️Add marinated chicken. Cook until the chicken is cooked through and the oil separates from the masala.
🔸️ In the same pot with the cooked chicken, spread half of the partially cooked rice over the chicken.
🔸️ Sprinkle some chopped coriander and mint leaves over the rice.
🔸️ Add the remaining rice and another layer of chopped coriander and mint leaves.
🔸️ Sprinkle fried onions and the juice of one lemon over the top.
🔸️ Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid.
🔸️ Place the pot on a low flame. Cook for 20-30 minutes.
🔸️ Serve hot, garnished with additional fried onions, coriander, and mint leaves.
