Chicken Momos Recipe


Satisfy your cravings with homemade Chicken Momos! Here's a recipe to make delicious chicken momos at home


For the filling:

🔸️250g ground chicken

🔸️1 finely chopped onion

🔸️2-3 cloves garlic

🔸️1-inch piece of ginger

🔸️1 small carrot, finely grated

🔸️2-3 green onions

🔸️2 tbsp cilantro

🔸️1 tbsp soy sauce

🔸️1 tbsp sesame oil

🔸️1 tsp chili flakes

🔸️Salt and pepper to taste

For the dough:

🔸️2 cups all-purpose flour

🔸️1/2 teaspoon salt

🔸️Water, as needed


🔸️In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, grated carrot, chopped green onions, chopped cilantro, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.

🔸️Mix everything together until well combined.

🔸️In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.

🔸️Add water and knead until a smooth and elastic dough forms.

🔸️Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

🔸️After the dough has rested, divide it into small, walnut-sized balls.

🔸️ Roll each ball into a thin, circular wrapper.

🔸️ Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each wrapper.

🔸️ To shape the momos, hold one edge of the wrapper between your thumb and index finger and start pleating the edges together, working your way around to create a sealed pouch.

🔸️ Once all the momos are shaped, grease a steamer basket or tray with oil to prevent sticking.

🔸️Arrange the momos in the steamer basket, leaving some space between each one to prevent them from sticking together.

🔸️Steam the momos over boiling water for about 10-12 minutes, or the filling is cooked.

🔸️Once cooked, carefully remove the momos from the steamer.

🔸️ Serve the chicken momos hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
